So, what have we had so far?
Zilight Original - Modern-day, UK
Zilight Seattle - Modern-day, Washington state, USA
Zilight Dark Ages - 666AD, Britain
Zilight Egypt - 1923, Egypt (duh!)
Each of those games has had slightly different rules to account for their locations. Original and Seattle were the most similar as the time frames were the same. With Egypt, we added curses that could afflict the player character and Dark Ages was different again with armour repairing and a plague mechanic.
What I am delighted to announce now is a rolling program of Zilight games that will be set in different cities in the modern day. The rules will be uniform, with the exception of unique win conditions, when the location provides the opportunity for that.
The equipment, people and opponents will be flexed and altered as much as possible so you will still get a varied gaming experience but it will be all based around a core set of rules that will remain consistent.
These new Zilight games will also be released through our webstore, not through Kickstarter.
I am currently polling previous customers for their recommendations on which city we infest with zombies next...
What about Zilight Wild West?
That is still coming to Kickstarter in December. As it is set in a different time period, and will feature bespoke rules, it justifies a full release as a means to reach the widest audience possible.
We will also offer a chance, during that campaign, to catch up on any of the Zilights that people have missed (some are in the web store but most are out of stock).
And that is the intention, when a Zilight game is set in a different time period, which requires bespoke rules, it will be launched as a Kickstarter release. The zombie world series will shuffle out of the shadows, moaning and seeking brains to eat via the webstore. No less deadly for all that!
I'm hugely excited about this world of zombies that will be steadily unleashed on the world and I hope you are too.
If you have a recommendation on a city that you think we should feature, please post it below as a comment, or message us via the 'Contact us' page.
Until next time, take care out there, it's a zombie world!
